It seems to me that here in Czechia we are frozen in time. Costs of real estate are through the roof in the whole country and change is nowhere to be seen. So I wonder why this is not a priority? Every political party mentions this as the biggest priority with different solutions, but nothing really changes. It really feels like we are the last generation to be able to buy our own living..
With politicians being clowns on social media chasing hearts and likes, not remembering what they were saying a couple of years ago, for example ANO while in opposition was pushing for lowering excise tax and VAT on petrol in 2022 in response to raising prices, meanwhile in 2026 as a ruling party they are against the idea.
To me this is disrespectful towards voters, and everyone else. It does not matter what they say as long as they are the loudest to say whatever bullshit to get attention. Not to mention that both main parties here are essentially identical. ODS/Spolu and ANO are mostly interchangeable when it comes to ruling. Main difference is the persona of Andrej Babis.
Sadly cheap promises of German salaries and canceling immigration and the green deal are enough for most people, but can you blame them? Most people have no time or interest to watch every news source. However everyone has time for social media, where crafted algorithms will do anything to keep them on, maybe showing anger for certain politician down your throat. Sure there is some blame on those scrolling advertisements platforms.
I wonder if our standards are that low, or are those truly the best our charming country can offer? Maybe there is a problem in us not wanting more. Maybe we should hold them accountable as people. It does not matter which party, all of them are equally to blame. Ask for more, expect more, do not forget that they are here to serve our best interests.
Anyway, enough brain dump.
